ARTICLE 16: COMMITTEES

In pursuit of fulfilment of the aims and objectives of the Party, there shall be the following Standing and Ad-hoc Committees:

16.1 Standing Committees

  • Foreign Affairs Committee.
  • Communication, Information and Technology Committee.
  • Advisory Committee.
  • Research, Strategy and Policy Committee.
  • Disciplinary Committee.
  • Finance Committee.
  • Arts and Culture Committee
  • Campaign Committee
  • Tourism and Environment Committee
  • Trade Committee
  • Agricultural Committee
  • Deferentially Able People Committee

16.2 Ad-hoc Committees

i. Screening Committee.

ii. Electoral Committee.

iii. Constitutional Review Committee.

16.3 Establishment or Dissolution of Committees

i. The National Executive Board/Committee shall have the powers to establish new or dissolve existing committees as well as the powers to appoint/change the members to such committees.

ii. Gender sensitivity shall be applied in making appointments to committees.

16.3 Conduct of Committee Operations

Standing and Ad-hoc committees, as well as all other committees established under Article 16, shall abide by the following rules in the conduct of their operations:

i. The chairperson can convene a meeting at any time deemed necessary.

ii. One third of the members shall constitute a quorum.

iii. Committees must keep regular minutes of their meetings copies of which shall be sent to the National Secretariat.
